MSU and Federal Regulations require training and continuing education to ensure that all scientists, research technicians, animal technicians, and other personnel involved in animal care, treatment, and use are qualified to perform their duties in the care and use of research animals.
Mandatory tutorial for all who use animals with research and educational activities that provides information regarding regulatory agencies, compliance, animal use, and responsibilities for on-going research at MSU as dictated by federal regulations.
Mandatory training for all investigators and personnel that provides information regarding species, husbandry, behavior, zoonosis, and varied topics.
The Office of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Safety (ORCBS) offers numerous training classes throughout the year to educate the employees of Michigan State University on safe work practices. Each laboratory worker/supervisor is required to complete certain courses, depending on his/her specific job.
